Craft Wood is a woodland project that offers hands on outdoor opportunities to people with a variety of support needs. We operate from our woodland base - a wonderful woodland - sited in Amber Valley. The groups we run and the people who attend are key in creating and shaping the project. Here’s a glimpse of what’s go on to date - the construction of shelters and base tent ( complete with a wood burner), putting in paths around the site, making one off bit of furniture you can find around the woods, installing an off grid solar power system, the development of what we hope is going to be an awesome little campsite - the creation of a green wood workshop .Craft Wood is about realising potential, enjoying being outside and having the support we need for enthusiasm to flourish.

We aim to empower and enable people with support needs (whether big or small) through the maintenance and improvement of the woodland, and by providing experienced support - allowing people to learn new skills - particularly wood work, craft, DIY and small scale woodland management. We aim to offer a place where people can share, be a part of a group and feel an active and creative part of the natural world. We aim to enable wellbeing and being and doing outdoors.
